False broadcasting against Rahul Gandhi,Rajan approaches Supreme Court.

Case-Rohit Ranjan vs Union of India and ors. Supreme Court ordered no coercive action to be taken against Zee Hindustan anchor Rohit Ranjan in relation to case filed against him in connection to false news report claiming Rahul Gandhi condoned recent killing of a man in Udaipur.Vacation bench of Justice Indira Banerjee and JK Maheshwari by their order says that "Issue Notice, Service on the Union of India be effected through office of Central Agency.Meanwhile,an interim order stopping the authorities from taking coercive steps against petitioner.Rajan approaches Supreme Court against Chattisgarh Police's action in relation to false casting about Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.The channel broadcast a news showing Rahul Gandhi that he said to forgive murderer in the movie named Kanhaiya Lal Teji in Udaipur.Actually,Gandhi meant to those who vandalised his office in Wayanad,Kerala and not to Udaipur killers.The Channel later published an apology.Plea seeks for clubbing and quashing multiple FIRs against Rajan and protection from coercive actions.It was argued that channel had received video from third party ANI,which is handled by trainee producer.The show based on same had factual inaccuracies.When channel released same it retracted the show and expressed regret on air.The FIRs in multiple states occupied with hounding by authorities, have been filed with pre-determined and pre-motivated objective to cause harrasment to anchor and channel it contended.
